MIA'S POV As I delicately turned the worn pages of the Book of Enchantments, my eyes widened in disbelief. Each incantation revealed a darker secret, a more malevolent power than the last. The ancient script described spells that could rend the very fabric of reality, summon creatures from the shadows, and manipulate minds with a mere whisper. My heart quickened as I stumbled upon a page filled with vicious curses, each word practically dripping with malice. The realization struck me like a physical blow – this book, revered for its enchantments, was a weapon of unimaginable destruction.

She was getting bored. She went into the study to search for a new fantasy book. Alberto, her brother, added a new collection after fifteen days. He knew his sister loved to read fantasy books instead of love stories. She was running her fingers over the queue of the book's titles. "Twilight, Dead Beautiful, The Kiss of Deception, Relentless." She whispered the names of the titles, "City Of Bones," She pulled it out from the queue. She hadn't read it.

Her mouth parted without permission. “I noticed you have plenty of other books and sketch magazines like this. So I decided to get these” he said calmly, like he hadn’t just dropped a bomb on her fragile emotions. She lifted one of the books carefully, almost like it might disappear if she wasn’t gentle enough. “These novels haven’t been released in the market yet” she said softly. “And these are my favorite magazines” she said, referring to the long magazines. She loved reading when she wasn’t sketching. She loved getting lost in stories. She had been counting down the months for these exact books to be available. She had talked about them without even realizing how often.

She grabbed something from it and held it up excitedly. “A book!” I blinked. “A book?” “Yes!” She opened it dramatically. “Look! This is a spell book,” Bri whispered excitedly. “Are you sure?” I asked. “Positive.” She flipped through pages quickly. “Protection charms… spirit bindings… elemental control—” Her eyes sparkled. “This is amazing!” I forced a smile. “Yeah… amazing.” But my attention drifted across the room to Derek. He leaned casually against the wall as his eyes moved from Bri’s excited face to my hand still resting near hers on the table, and even though he quickly looked away, I could have sworn for just a second that he looked jealous.
