I acknowledged and finally got a good look at the man, his chocolate skin stretched over his wide shoulders and my eye involuntarily followed the path of the tattoos littering his arms. The clearing of his throat snapped me from my inspection and my eyes flew to his, where almost black orbs stared at me with an eyebrow raised. “Sorry,” I mumbled, embarrassed to have been caught staring. “The right is of a phoenix rising from the ashes and the left is a wolf in the dark forest.” He smirked, turning sideways so I could see his ink clearer in the sun. “Do you mind me asking what it means?” I reached my hand out to run my fingers over the wolf’s canines.

“But it’s more painful to work over the spine. The shoulder would be more comfortable.” I chew on my lip, considering it. I mean, I’ve just spent two weeks being broken, drowned, electrocuted and poisoned. Surely, I can’t balk at a tattoo? “Can you draw it out in the size you think would look best, with the runes worked in, and then we can, see?” I ask. “Absolutely. Give me about ten minutes.”

The light traveled over the line of his shoulders and the slope of his spine I noticed a tattoo on his back close to his shoulders I hadn’t picked up before: a spider inked over what looked like the faded outline of a skull. Faint shadows of the old design showed beneath the new one. I considered asking, but some things felt private, like bookmarks in someone else’s book. I let it be.

If I wouldn’t have listened to him, he would have tightened his arm more and I would have ended up with shattered bones. His warmth was heartwarming and it gave me the courage to run my finger along his muscled tattooed arm and I made small circles along the lines of his tattoo. He had this artistic tattoo of a warrior on his forearm, wearing armor and he was looking up at the constellation and that moon that was inked in Romeo’s biceps skin. Then, his gaze dropped to the spider lily tattoo on my ankle. Suddenly, he yanked open his own shirt collar. Over his left chest, directly above his heart, bloomed the exact same spider lily. The colour was blood-red. It was a mark he had gone over again and again for five years, carving it deeper into his flesh. "I'll cut him up and feed him to the dogs…" He cursed under his breath. "Doctor! Get a doctor up here now! "I only want female doctors!" He roared toward the door. His voice had a slight, unintentional quiver.

The tattoo image was at the peak of perfection and it almost seems as if both scorpions are gonna come alive at will. On a closer look, one would discover that both scorpions were different in color. One is Red and the other one is Dark-blueish color. Both young men were so charming that they could stop any lady and cause them to look at them several times. But one of them look younger and he was three years younger than the first guy. On the left hand of the Elder, brother was a red scorpion, and on the left arm of the younger was a tattoo of a dark blueish Scorpion.
