A tall, chestnut mare poked her head out, curious eyes studying me.
Marion chuckled, resting his arm casually along the stall door. “Not half a ranch. Just enough to keep me entertained when I was younger.” He tilted his head. “Do you ride?”
I smirked, meeting his gaze with a raised brow. “I’m Mexican, Marion. Horses are in our blood.”
His grin widened, boyish and utterly disarming. “Wildfire, I think you just found another way to make me fall harder.”
Rolling my eyes at his dramatics, I slipped into the stall, stroking the mare’s muzzle. She nickered softly, leaning into my touch. “She likes me.”
