Xenia nodded sadly. “How did you fall?” Renai asked again. Xenia pointed at a stallion. “This stupid horse s…scared me,” Xenia scowled. She curtly stared at the stallion, picked a pebble and threw it in its direction. The luminous horse neighed and jumped when the pebble hit it. Renai’s eyes widened as it stepped back and got rash. The stallion bridle was untied, it neighed again and dashed toward them at full speed. Before anything could make sense to her, she pulled Xenia behind her and closed her eyes when it reached the door.

The morning was already warm and it wasn't 6:30 yet. Mikel was leaning on the paddock fence watching a ranch hand coax her horses into it.
