The woman looked familiar. "Hey there, Ms. Emily Collins, right? I'm Stacy," the woman introduced herself warmly, extending her hand. Emily shook her hand, recognizing the famous Stacy Mason—the renowned stylist often associated with A-list personalities and influential families. "Stacy? He said softly and just then, the door opened again, and Stacey peeked her head in. “Okay. Sorry to ruin the emotional moment, but it’s time.” She let out and then stepped in fully, eyes glistening when she saw me. “You look like a freakin’ goddess.” “I know right, Nia is a miracle worker.” I replied with a smile. “She’s crying on her I*******m right now,” Stacey said, grinning. “She posted a sneak peek and said she’s honored to have dressed a queen.” My cheeks warmed. “I don’t feel like a queen.”

I lean across the table and squeeze his lean fingers in mine. The sound of Stacey's engine pulling in the driveway breaks up the moment. She is my best friend who drives a beat-up truck that used to belong to her older brother. "Stace" as I love to call her has been my friend since I came to Riverside. She is as loud as her engine, dyed blue curls, ripped jeans, and dark make-up announces her presence wherever she goes. I love her. She is everything I am not: Bold and confident. "Yo folks, morning. Can smell those pancakes from two blocks away." She snatches one from my plate.
