There was only two men remaining. X slowly held the bade before him and charged. He was fast! The men were at the end of the hallway and had about ten feet between them. In a moments notice X closed that distance. Both men screamed in agony as on the translucent blade slide over their stomachs, disemboweling them. Both slumped to the floors they had died before they finished reaching the ground. “Hurry up and stay close!” X yelled. Ka-Rin was still down the hallway by their door way. Her body instinctually followed X’s commands as she was still processing the bloody mess before her.

The air feels thicker, harder to breathe. A sick, heavy dread settles in my stomach. He’s here. My stalker is here. And I have no idea who he is. But I know— I know— he’s watching me.

I whisper in her ear. I start kissing her neck as my hands travel up and cover her breasts. “Jaidyn not here,” she says. I feel someone slap the back of my head and whip around to yell. He was heavily doubting it himself. “What is the idea?” I ask. “We make the stalker believe we live around here. We split up and we see which one he follows.” “Alright.”

My nose crinkled. I could smell it—a male scent, not a familiar one, but one I’d encountered a few times before. Sniffing deeper, it became clearer, and then it hit me. It was his scent. What was his name again? Yes, Xavier. But why the hell did he have a gun pointed at my head? Because he was the damned stalker. It still didn’t make sense. Why would he want Violet dead? Blinking furiously, I pushed away the whirlwind of thoughts threatening to overwhelm me.

He could sense someone's presence lurking in the shadows, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of movement. Suddenly, a figure materialized in front of Dakota, emerging from the darkness.
