I tentatively reach out and touch it, only to have my fingers coated with a black tar-like substance. The smell that accompanies it is overwhelming — a noxious stench of rotten cabbage, something akin to sulphur. It's the same foul odor that Ezra had described earlier, confirming my worst fears. It was dirt covered and rough with many permanent wrinkles covering his skin. His eyes where half closed, leaving them into tight slits as he continued to babble nonsense to himself. It looked like there was something in them. On the counter in front of him were mugs, a packet of tea bags and a bottle of rancid milk. He must have been making a cuppa when it hit, and he hadn’t left that position since. There was a large wet stain around the crotch of his grey flannel trousers and a big brown lump bulged at the back. Some of it had spilled over the top of his waistband and stained his shirt. Another loose pile had found its way down his trouser leg and onto the floor. His heel caught it every time he rocked, making a tiny squelch.

He had long and oily hair, his beard was curly and full of dirt. Dandruff was everywhere on his face but, instead of being white, it was yellow-brown due to the smelly sweat that continuously came out of his pores. His clothes were ragged and full of holes, Lucinda recognized some dark stains on them that emitted even more smelly odors. A big jar full of wine was in one of his hands and, on his back, a ragged backpack hanged seemingly empty. Lucinda was confused and asked with her hand still on her nose.

The lights were faintly lit up, and everything was dilapidated and old. It looked like it was inhabited for years. The foul stench came from the master’s bedroom.
