Breath Without Me
I didn't take a breath until I made it to the bottom of the stairs and a few feet into the grass, where I grabbed hold of the old hitching post that hadn't been used in many years, and leaned over it as I took in a lungful of air.
Fresh air immediately rushed in, filling my lungs and clearing his mouthwatering scent away.
I took several deep breaths, not stopping until I could no longer smell him. My wolf huffed in disappointment as he receded to the back of my head, curling up like a sad puppy.
When he finally receded, my head cleared, and the reality of everything that just happened came crashing down on me in an instant.
“Fuck!” I cursed through a breath as I slammed my fists down onto th
