I put our bags in the overhead and we take our seats and buckle up, Lena sits down on other side of the cabin right next to me, I would've preferred her closer but buggers can't be choosers. Stefan announces over the intercom that we're about to take off and to put on our seat belts and a few minutes later we start to take off. Lena has her ear buds in and her eyes are closed so she doesn't notice me looking at her, taking in all her features.

The SUV ride back was a blur of laughter and drunken teasing. Rafe and Lena were arguing over who was the better beer pong player, Rafe insisting his aim was perfect, Lena slapping at his arm and calling him “a cocky cheater.” Nyah and Thorne whispered close together in the corner, their heads tilted toward one another, stealing soft touches when they thought no one was looking.
