Stepmom shot back, glaring at them.
I turned to her, my eyes burning with frustration. “Ma, with all due respect, don’t slap me again. What is it this time? What do you and your children really want from me? You’ve already ruined my life, so please, just leave me alone!” I shouted, my voice shaking with anger.
“Oh, I see! Greater now has the courage to talk back to me, eh? You think you’re growing wings to fly, but before you take off, I’ll rip those wings right off!” she sneered.
