A beat later, Amanda—my assistant—rushed in behind the intruder, her heels clicking frantically on the floor. “I’m so sorry, sir—he wouldn’t wait—”
I turned to her, ignoring the man entirely. “What did I tell you, Amanda? I don’t see anyone without an appointment. Have security remove him.”
Two of our security team appeared almost instantly, flanking the stranger.
The man, mid-forties, black trench coat slightly wrinkled from travel, didn’t flinch. “Christian Hilton,” he said. “You’re a hard man to reach.”
