How was it possible that Steve would keep a secret from his entire pack and those closest to him for so long? “The only thing he ever said was that I didn't need to bother since the rogues weren't causing any trouble and at the time, he was right.” Dave explained.

I realized I liked him—which was unusual for someone I just met. Or maybe I was just drawn to humans. He looked young, with a neatly trimmed beard, small nose, and brown hair. But the way he carried himself made me think he was a few years older. He didn’t have the accent of Kira or Mel or the other few people I’d talked with from the human world, which made me sure he wasn’t from this city.

Just as I was about to unleash a commotion that broke loose in the hallway, Nick barged into the room followed closely by Cat who had her hand on her hips unimpressed by his presence. “Boss, sorry to barge in but we have a problem at the clubhouse”. Nick glared at Cat as she pushed past his shoulder. “Get out the pair of you” she growled. “It's okay Cat, by the sounds of things the Rogues have yet another drama, no doubt it’s because their Alpha is incapable of leading a pack”. I pull my legs up, wrapping my arms around my knees and staring steadily at the blank television screen. “Does the tv work?” I ask, my voice shaking a little despite myself. “I…don’t know…” Roger replies, his tone curious. “Do you want me to try it?” “Mmmhmm!” I say, my hum an octave higher than it would usually be.
