Stolen Novels & Stories

Or the night after. How could I? I didn't even bother calling, or checking on her. Maria supplied me all the reports I needed. Caterina sent me a message on the second day. "Where are you, Luca? I need to take the edge off." I didn't reply. Instead, I sat beside a white-coated man in a secret underground lab, staring at a small pile of the crushed powder in a plastic dish under UV light. I had stolen the purse from her that night when she was asleep.

It was from Lucious at the diner. “ZARA - I'M SORRY TO HAVE TO HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS, BUT I’M LETTING YOU GO EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. SECURITY CAMERAS CAUGHT YOU STEALING FROM US ON TUESDAY NIGHT.I CAN’T HAVE THEIVES WORKING FOR ME. DON’T BOTHER COMING BACK FOR YOUR LAST PAYCHECK- IT’LL GO TOWARD COVERING WHAT YOU TOOK. -LUCIOUS.” The phone slipped from my numb fingers.

Caleb hand rested lightly on mine on the console, a small, grounding presence. “You know”, Caleb began cautiously, “there are people out there who play dangerous games.” He said and paused to look at me. “ You might be swimming with sharks without even realizing it”. I turned sharply toward him. “What do you mean?” He hesitated, choosing his words carefully. “Last night… apart from the attempt on you, Some of the most expensive cars in your private garage were stolen.” My heart skipped. “What?”

Andrew's smile faltered too. "Alright, no need for that," Marie interjected, trying to smooth things over. "That would only make things awkward for everyone." Just then, a maid hurried in. "Mr. Scott! I found your watch under the bed. I've already put it back in its place." "Wait, so it was all a misunderstanding?" "He really doesn't seem like the type to steal. Something feels off..." The comments trickled in, dividing in their opinions. Elyssa looked visibly uncomfortable. She sent me another payment with a brief note.

Kaya rin siguro madali sa aking kalimutan ang lahat at bumalik sa normal kong buhay. But now... They were haunting me. They want me get accountability of what happened. Hindi lang dahil sa pamomolestiya ni Tito William at ng mga kasama nito. Pati na rin sa ginawang pag suic*de ng isa sa mga estudyanteng 'yon.

Aunt Janice slapped her thighs in panic. My father, meanwhile, crumpled to the floor, waving his hands frantically. "Officer, it's all a misunderstanding! I'm her father! Taking my daughter's money and ID is a family matter! Since when is that a crime? I was disciplining my own daughter. There's nothing wrong with that!" The officer's face darkened. "An adult's personal property is protected by law. $50,000 exceeds the threshold for a major theft offense. The victim has chosen to press charges. That's entirely lawful."

I said nothing. He exhaled through his nose the sound of a man deeply inconvenienced by the limitations of those around him. “Two people. A young woman and a man. They stole the only written book on the Ember Heart and left the kingdom with it. One doesn’t do that out of casual interest.” He tilted his head. “They’re searching for it.” My jaw tightened. “How certain are you?”

It looks like this thief is really used to this sort of thing. Oh well, you just wait and you’ll get it from me. Hahaha! Day 18: Haha! " Someone stole it the day I visited the club. A pickpocket." Shit! My mind flash to the girl at the Cafe who stole Coen's wrist watch. " Fucking cunt!" I mutter. " How can we find this pickpocket?" " It's a girl." " A fucking girl stole from me?" He yells. Yeah right, a fucking girl stole from you, dickwad. " I'll find her."

He quickly cleared his throat. “I am in the bathroom.” The other person was about to open when they heard his voice. “Sorry sir I didn’t know it was occupied.” It was one of the junior workers and his voice was shaking from fear. I was relieved my momentum was distu…….. I didn’t finish that as his finger went deep inside. He was not even scared we were almost caught. “How are you calm?” “They are called stolen moments for this reason. The adrenaline, the zeal and anticipation should feel like this.”
