Even the thunder seemed to hold its breath. Both men turned their burning eyes on her, and for the first time, their faces no longer mirrored perfectly. One bore fury—wild, consuming. The cloud swirled and drew closer to our group. Fifi and Nalu panicked and stayed close to us and the little island of Silisk’s dead skin. We could hear the others screaming and the metahumans rushing to the other’s side to protect them. Before the storm could make contact with any of us, the triton began to absorb the storm. Lacey angrily moves over to the chipped green door, her stomping steps pounding out a tempo in the silence of the room, and she pulls the door open with unneccesary force, letting the frigid cold air into the room as it rushes past her. The blast of cold takes her breath but it does not manage to cool down her white hot anger that is balzing like a wild inferno inside of her.
