It always worked on people who didn't know what they were doing.
She gulped, then spoke with a shaky voice.
“You'll be torn to shreds. But I can explain…” she stammered.
The trigger clicked. She shut her eyes, awaiting death.
Stepping back, I grinned, clicking the pistol over and over again.
“It's empty, darling. You really love your life–”
She opened her eyes, her hand flying to her neck.
“But I have to say, you love these people more than your life.”
