My pulse spiked again at that.
“But I'm not going to do anything,” he continued.” Because you didn't ask and that would not help you in any way.”
I let out a shaky breath. “Thank you.”
He shifted slightly away keeping his distance.
“We are going to ride this out,” he said confidently. “ By morning you should be right as new, cooling air, fluids and quiet, no stimulation, no pressure.”
I huffed a weak, humorless laugh. “ You make it sound so simple.”
