My fingers moved with purpose, darting across the screen as I set my plan into motion and prepared to send that video out into the world, share the truth, and cue justice. I furried my eyes all around the set as I scrolled through my phone in haste, trying to find the video that embodied the essence of my revenge. But when I opened the file, my heart plummeted: The video refused to play, leaving the screen frozen with a cold blank stare that rejected my own. My fingers beat a frantic tattoo against the screen, urging the video to awaken. But my effort was in vain. Refusing to open for me, the video imprisoned itself beyond my opportunity.

I couldn’t stop replaying it, even when I didn’t want to. By the time I got back to my apartment, I was restless. My legs itched for movement, but I didn’t feel like going out. So, I did what any lonely twenty-something hitman-slash-student would do: I flopped on my couch, powered up my console, and lost myself in video games. Hours passed. My thumbs ached from the controller, and still, the boredom lingered. Shooting virtual enemies wasn’t enough when I was wired to crave real danger. I tossed the controller aside and stared at the ceiling again.

I held my breath. " I'm going to make sure you never forget this moment... I and the rest of them." He said, toying with the next button. The desire to free my hands became even more violent now, but it wasn't enough. That button went as well and ran across the room. Lustful glances hit me from across the room... Is this really how am going to lose my virginity??? Just as he was about to tear up the blouse, the door opened and someone entered and hit the guy with a stick. The rest were startled as they didn't expect anyone to see them. I couldn't see the person since it was dark in the room.

That's when it happened. Before I knew it, he had grabbed me by the wrist and kicked me to my knees.

It was a stupid question that I only realized after I asked it and I was a bit angry at myself when he laughed. “As a matter of fact, they do.” He pointed at a building with a large tree next to it and I noticed a strange contraption that was painted in all different colours. Children were climbing all over it and he must have noticed my frown. “Don’t you know what a jungle gym is?” Something told me he already knew the answer, but I shook my head nonetheless as we walked closer. Stella looked at her back and suddenly asked. "I was playing video games with that Stinky Cucumber all night," Felicity squinted her eyes and said. She squeezed out some toothpaste and continued, "I'm getting old. When I was in school, I stayed up all night and I still felt alive and well the next morning. Now, it feels like half of my soul is gone." Felicity was thinking that if Vermont ever asked her to test out some video games again, she would have to extort him for a few in-game skins.

He nudges my arm back, just as hard as I did his’. “I had to beat the level. Do you even know how difficult walking and playing at the same time is?”

She replies. Things are still awkward as hell between us so I have no desire to sit down and make stilted conversation with her. I grunt something about waiting downstairs then excuse myself to go in search of a mind numbing video game. I’ve barely set foot in the game room when a sound like a soft whimper catches my attention.
