Abby POV I was curled up on one of the campus garden benches, trying to lose myself in my handheld video game. The click of the buttons and the repetitive game music were my only anchor, a shield against the reality I didn’t want to face. The afternoon sun beat weakly on my back, but it didn’t warm me.
