Her expression was unreadable — neither angry nor pleased, but cold, steady, and commanding.
“If any of you still think I’m the same woman you could silence years ago,” she said, her voice low but strong, “think again.”
The room froze. No one spoke.
Sarah walked forward, each step deliberate, and placed her file on the table. She looked around the room, at each of them, her gaze piercing.
“I understand you’ve been busy,” she said quietly. “Discussing leadership, control, stability…” She smiled faintly, but it wasn’t warm. “How thoughtful of you.”
