My eyes drifted down to his torso, and my breath caught. God must have enlisted his finest artist to carve Killian Knight. The tattoo, a haunting web of thorned vines, began at his right hip and sprawled across his torso. Its black branches reached his heart, with another branch peeking over his left shoulder and spreading down his arm to his elbow. The intricate design, hidden beneath his clothes, was now fully exposed.

Cute, almost, with her dark hair and broad smile. Bray was next. Scruffy dark hair, just like his brothers, his T-shirt stretched across toned shoulders, revealing the tattoos decorating his arms. And if you didn’t know better, another Bray followed after him. Of course, that was Titus, his twin, and even though they completely ignored the cameras, it was plain to see that they were identical. Except for the tattoos—it was the easiest way to tell them apart now. From Bray’s almost iconic stopwatch on the inside of his left bicep to the trees that crawl up Titus’s forearm from his wrist.

The other two joined in, each showing me their designs a phoenix across one’s back that peeked over his collar, a serpent winding down another’s arm in precise, dangerous curves.

My gaze drifted to his chest, where intricate tattoos sprawled across his skin, half of his left chest completely inked. There was a large python coiled menacingly, its fangs bared as if ready to strike. Surrounding it were other symbols—a bleeding dagger, an intricate skull wrapped in thorns, and a blood moon rising behind them all. The ink seemed almost alive, dark and haunting, like it held secrets too dangerous to reveal. I had seen something like this before. I looked him over with a little more interest, “Where is Sebastian’s mark?” “Vamp’s don’t leave their own marks,” Rian rolled up his sleeve and revealed a tattoo-looking mark that stretched up his arm, across his chest and onto his shoulder, “but my marking cover’s both mine and Sebastian’s body in the same way.” I gently slid my finger along one part of it. It looked like discoloured skin, reddened but crisp lines like a tattoo and smooth, unlike Onyx’s mark. I loved that he didn’t shave or wax all the way… it seemed more manly to me, plus it was soft to the touch and I couldn’t wait to feel more. A twisted pumpkin face, its mouth split all the way to the ears, its eyes hollow spirals. “This kind of gothic-style tattoo… a lot of people have them…” My voice grew quieter and quieter. Then in a blink of an eye his features became more relaxed and I too felt the tension leaving me as the burning sensation on my arm had all but disappeared.
