Sully had attended Rigley High School in the same graduating class as Sammy and Luke, while his older brother Johnny had skimmed by and graduated the year before. Much like Sammy and her group of friends, the Beard brothers are also inseparable. However, they are nothing like Sammy and her friends. The Beard's are the town bullies and have been getting into trouble ever since they could stand up, while Sammy and her friends are all polite and grew up with a humble upbringing.

Roxy sneers while rolling her eyes. Sabrina knows that with my word, Roxy can tear her down like a grizzly bear. Roxy, right now, is like a lioness. She's eyeing her prey closely, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on it and devour it mercilessly. Sabrina turns to me and begs to be heard.

GIGI'S POV The darkness of the forest engulfed me as I struggled to free myself from their tight grip. They dragged me around like a lifeless body, their eyes filled with disgust and contempt. "Rogue!" they hissed, spitting out the word like a curse. My heart sank as I realized the irony of my situation: I had spent my entire time in this forest fighting against these same rogues, yet now I was being named after them.

With each step Solana moved forward, the White-Necked Talons Bear would tremble as they took a step back. The previous viciousness and fierceness all disappeared. Suddenly, one of the White-Necked Talons Bears shivered and raised its head, letting out a long roar. The voice was like dozens of bronze bells ringing at once, shaking everyone's eardrums and causing their heads to buzz. Most of them could not even stand steadily. When Mark heard the roar, his face changed drastically, and he exclaimed, "Sh*t! The bear's calling for help!" Before he could even finish his sentence, his voice was drowned in a loud explosion. The ground in front of Solana abruptly burst open.

Her matter-of-fact tone couldn't disguise the pride shining in her eyes, and I could tell she was thrilled with her project. "I'm impressed," I said sincerely, and Roxy's face lit up with a radiant smile. But her smile had an unexpected effect. Axel let out a loud, earsplitting howl within my mind. I winced, trying to rein him in, but he was beyond consolation. I'm sure I looked like a lunatic, mentally struggling to keep Axel under control as he continued to wail in response to Roxy's smile.

“You’re finally awake! We’ve missed you so much, Dad!” Roy chuckles, the sound rough but full. “I’ve missed you both too, pumpkin.” Sterling climbs onto the edge of the bed, eyes wide with admiration. “Wow, Daddy. You’re a superhero. I want to be a superhero just like you.” Roy lifts a brow, amused. “Really?” Sterling nods with fierce enthusiasm. “Yes! So I can always protect Mom and Scarlett whenever you’re not around.” Laughter spills from all corners of the room, warm and sweet. Scarlett rolls her eyes dramatically, flipping her hair as only she can. “You don’t need to protect me,” she says with an exaggerated shrug. “I can protect myself.”

he stammered, voice cracking with disbelief. “Why is he acting so surprised?” one of them mocked, sneering. “Maybe he wants us to believe he doesn’t have it so he can sneak off and sniff it in a quiet corner.
