I turned and ran. She stood back for a moment, her mind probably turning, working up a snarky comment, but she eventually followed. I smiled to myself and slowed my pace so she could keep up. We ran in silence for the next twenty minutes, till we got to the slope. Solana slowed, her breathing becoming shorter, but she was fine. Her body was used to running.
“Whoa,” she exclaimed when we reached the top of the hill. The sky was no longer purple. The sun had sliced through the cloud, blinding, and the sky was a fine mesh of yellow, orange, pink, and a bit of red.
