The darkness was not the absence of light. It was a weight that felt like cold iron and old blood. On the Terrace of Suns, the air was getting colder as the stars started to disappear from the sky. Elara held Kaelen close to her, her hands shaking as she tried to stop the bleeding from his side. Normally, her touch would have healed him. Now her hands only had a small weak spark that went away as soon as it touched the air. "Kaelen, stay with me " she said, her voice cracking. "The solar cycle is not supposed to happen for another ten years. This is impossible."

Caelum didn’t answer immediately. He stood beside me at the cliff’s edge, his ancient gaze fixed on the sky. Finally he exhaled. “No,” he said. “It wasn’t.” Cold dread crawled up my spine. “He said the moon is dying.” “Yes.” “You don’t sound surprised.” Caelum turned to look at me. “I suspected something was wrong after your ritual.” My jaw tightened. “You didn’t mention that.” “You had just shattered eternity,” he said dryly. “I thought you deserved a moment to breathe before I told you the sky might collapse.”

Sierra always knew that Xion was very clever, probably more than normal persons, and also a little paranoid, so she smacked her lips impatiently. “Geez, you just can’t trust people without questioning them, huh?” Xion smirked a little, making his face looked cocky, but also charming, “Yeah, it’s what makes me stay alive this long.” “Fine,” Sierra sighed, “I’m the bearer of True Blessing of the Sun. Happy?” She snarled the last word impatiently, as if she already forgotten that secret, but now she was reminded again.

“She’s my mate, Callum.” “What?” he breathed. I looked back at her. She was barely conscious, slumped against the cold wall. She looked so frail and underfed. Her breathing was shallow and uneven. I wanted to hold her. To shield her and tear apart anyone who had laid a hand on her. “Open this cell before I break it down myself,” I growled. And I could. I was an Obsidian wolf, one of the most powerful wolves alive. If they refused, I would rip the bars out of the stone and use them to crush their heads.

The Solaris Chamber was a hall of glass and silver, designed to focus the light of the full moon onto a single, obsidian altar. The roof had been retracted, revealing the cold, indifferent eye of the Moon Goddess. In the center of the hall, Kaelen was suspended in a cage of silver-wire. He was no longer crying. He sat perfectly still, his stormy sea eyes fixed on the moon, his skin glowing with a faint, unnatural violet light.

Then its words came like stone ground against stone. “I am Caelus. Once flesh. Once heir. Once betrayed. And bound to the line of Ashcroft by oath and by blood.” The room chilled. Selene let out a choked sob. ⸻ The Origin. Caelus lifted a hand, its edges flickering with runes that flared and died as though his very existence was rebellion against oblivion.

One of them said and I smiled. "Alright then, let's go in." I urged but as I walked in, they still stood where they were and I raised an eye brow. "As much as we would love to sit down, we can't. Alpha Xander had called in reinforcements so we don't know what he's crawling at. We only learnt that the first time of Alpha Xander going to battle, he didn't recover the constellation plate artifact." They informed and I stared at them like they had both lost their minds.
