Whenever the moon was crescent, we'd go to our past leader's graves to pay respect but whenever we couldn't go, we'd just pray and watch the crescent moon. But this was my favourite place, there was barely anyone passing by this place. And also, Cameron didn't know about this place. I never brought him here. I sat down on the ground and sighed deeply. It was the last day of winter, March 19 in the human's realm right now and here in crescent moon, the winter solstice was here. This evening, there would be darkness for a short while. It was a event celebrated in crescent moon though. It was called the FIRE RELEASING CEREMONY.

Astraea noticed. “Where everybody go?” Caelum looked back. “They avoid this place.” “Why?” “Because the world is learning fear.” I didn’t like that answer. Neither did Kazan. “What exactly are we walking toward?” Caelum stopped. He crouched and placed his palm against the earth. Stars appeared around his fingers. “The first anchor.” My pulse jumped. “Evander’s?” “No.” Caelum stood. “Evander will create his anchors thousands of years from now.”

Lysander POV Fuck, summer solstice seemed like a lifetime away. It was the beginning of March. We hadn’t even hit the spring equinox yet, and there were about twelve weeks between the equinox and solstice. Forever. I paced the office and did my best to ignore Xavier’S and Kaelen’S eyes boring into my skin. “We could take them out now,” I mumbled. Of course, we’d need to find VEXX and his cronies first.

A low, seismic growl rippled across the land. The wind died. Even the flames stilled. Shadows twisted in place—waiting. Even Henry stilled. His corrupted form stiffened. Ears twitching toward the smoke. The ash parted. And something older than the gods began to move. “Not until I make you destroy the one you cherish most, with your own hands,” Cael’s words rippled through the air like a cold, dark wave. “You know what this means, Xavier. You know what he must do...” His eyes glinted with malice, as if daring me to comprehend the fate I had just sealed".

“Better than.” Maeron lifted his gaze, finally. His eyes, usually unreadable, flickered with something too sharp to be called relief. “Go on.” Kael stepped closer, pulling a folded printout from his jacket. He laid it on the desk — a message log from Eamon, timestamped and marked with data points from Lexara’s first full day inside Seraphine’s territory. “She mapped the perimeter before sunrise. Resonance is stabilizing the outer ring already. She ran the land, and it didn’t push her out.”

"What does it say?" Grey asked. Kael handed me the note. The message was painfully short: The next phase begins on the full moon. Prepare the wolves. My stomach dropped. "The full moon is in three days," Grey said quietly. The paper suddenly felt heavier in my hands. "W is planning something big."
