Athena I woke up to the sunlight from the slightly opened window in my bedroom. I wasn't fully awake, but I could still perceive the scent of bacon coming from downstairs. It smelt so good that I could almost taste it. I laid in bed for almost 20 minutes, not willing to get up. I was about to get up before my personal alarm clock, my elder brother Apollo decided to grace me with his presence. "Rise and shine baby sis," he said grinning, knowing fully well how much I hated mornings.

My mood dropped. I drew the curtains apart. The light hit instantly, golden and warm as the soft evening sun filtered through the narrow gap. It stretched lazily across the floor, claiming the space little by little as I spread the fabric apart. The warmth kissed my face, and without thinking, I smiled. It wasn’t much — a faint, tired smile — but it felt good. The sky outside was a rich, fiery orange, the kind that made everything look softer, calmer. I stood there, letting the glow wash over me, allowing my smile to widen just a little more.

SUMMER. The heat of the sun beamed against my face as I slowly opened my eyes to the warmth of the sunlight. He was right beside me with his hands already stroking my hair and I sat up with a smile across my face. “Good morning” I said softly and he heaved. “Morning, Sunshine” Vincent puckered his lips in a way that made me blush lightly. “The brightest of them all” He added.
