I already had him, but my victory was shallow to me now because of Gavrael’s interference. Instead of going defensive like I expected, the wolf continued his offensive attacks despite his limp. He didn’t want to appear weak, or maybe he was just used to fighting with that wound. But his attacks were weaker now and easier to dodge. And getting under his guard was easier to do as well, and I was able to strike his weak leg again. *** Thorran's friend arrived the next day early in the morning. I was lingering in my room, packing my things when I heard a foreign voice speak from inside the suite. I've never heard that accent before, so curiously, I peak my head around the corner, seeing who will be helping Thorran track where the letter had come from. It takes me a moment to recognize who they are. It's Alpha Archer of the Freedom Pack. He looks so much taller in person and significantly more muscular than I've seen in in the books. He might not be as tall as Thorran, but he still looks intimidating. They don't seem to notice me watching from the doorway, so I keep quiet, observing.

They moved to the next across the battlefield one road at a time until they finally found another team of Alphas. This one had a fireman working at the floor. The Alphas surrounded him with guns at the ready and one extra person. Tom signaled and his men fired. The spare Alpha extended his hand and electricity shot forth. It hit the power armor, powering it up. The Alphas drew back in surprise as the power armor hummed with renewed energy. It deflected the bullets back at the Alphas. They dipped and dived away while his men shot. Tom smiled.

The aura coming from within was much higher than any of the others that they had come across. Alpha Ryan felt each time one of his team members fell fighting against these warriors, shedding a tear for each one but keeping his wits about him as he, too, fought the same warriors. Alpha Ryan looks at the high-ranked warriors surrounding him. He glances over and sees that Zaire is in the same situation as he is only Zaire isn’t quite as strong. Some of these warriors must have been bred, as the only way to beat a Gamma who is at the top of his rank is to be an Alpha or Beta. Ryan watched as Zaire held his own while still managing to fight off the ones surrounding him.

There was no other Alpha that could take decisions like him, he thought. He always thought Aaron was full of himself, especially in their last meeting. The soldiers he sent to assist them were almost at his pack. He didn't want to accept help, but this might be a way for him to ask questions about Aaron from his soldiers. He knows no werewolf would talk against their Alpha but he would try. Some Alphas think Aaron is the perfect person to be the supreme Alpha, while some of them are on his side. He needed to have the whole council on his side, especially Alpha Ash, who was the oldest of all the Alphas and the head of the council of werewolves.
