Adore (Wish, Book Three)
Kathleen looks around, taking her time in answering, her voice low, “Not entirely. We might be able to hide out here. We’ll blend right in.”
It seems like a normal village with a marketplace, people trying to get out of the rain, a sheriff standing under the shade of a building talking to someone. But the deeper we venture, the more I realize Kathleen’s meaning. These people are all supernatural. There’s something about how a supernatural being smells, an exotic edge to their scent, one that separates them from the normal human scent.
“You think we should bunker down here while the rain ends?” I lean towards Quill.
“At this point, we don’t have much of a choice, do we?” He looks exhausted.
