End Game
Emily giggled, opening her note pad.
She cleared her throat, trying to look professional.
"So," she said, glancing up at me through her thick lenses, "first game of the season. Forty-two to ten. How does it feel leading the Lions to such a dominant win?"
I leaned back against the railing, folding my arms. "Feels exactly how it should," I said easily. "We worked all summer for this. Conditioning, drills-this wasn't luck. It was preparation."
She nodded quickly, scribbling. "There was a lot of pressure on you tonight. Defending champions, captain, all eyes on you. Did you feel it?"
