The sun turned into the same clock as the one on the supermarket wall. A familiar mechanical female voice rang out. "Countdown to anomaly arrival: three days. Three days from now, this world will be incorporated into a new game instance. Players ranked outside the top 10,000 on the prize leaderboard will be cleared." The impossible just became reality. The other two men stared at each other, terror and despair written all over their faces. They experienced the horror of the game firsthand. And now, everything in front of them was proof that it was all real.

, The virtual farmer screamed with a frown on his face. "You're getting quite bossy aren't you. Just gimme a hoe or something!". Letting out a deep sigh, while trying hard not to toss the phone out the window. I was really frustrated!! "Permanent weapon chosen. First harvest has begun, you have twenty-four hours to collect the item", the mascot disappeared and a pair of eyes appeared. The game closed by itself after a twenty-four hour count down appeared. That night, I slept believing what Bev had told me. It was probably spammers.... Or so I thought...

As they stepped into the cool, damp air of the night, the rain had transformed into a light drizzle, misting the surroundings in a haze. The world outside felt lush and alive, yet ominous with an undercurrent of uncertainty. George led the way, Elora and Maya close behind, each step bringing them closer to a sanctuary that felt both like a refuge and a line crossed. "Stay close," George advised, casting a watchful glance over his shoulder. "We don't know who might be watching."

A new message from Jessica. [Jessica]: Aurora, tomorrow's the fourth day. Remember to start the "Pilgrimage." Also, I've been watching the other players and noticed some interesting patterns... want to chat privately? Aethelan glanced at the message. For the first time, an undisguised coldness appeared in his red eyes. He stood and walked to the window, summoning an ornate dagger from thin air. The blade was deep black, carved with ancient runes, and radiated a dangerous, alluring light.

The stench of death hung in the air, Mike’s black ooze slowly seeping into the carpet. I forced myself to stay calm, my eyes scanning the rapidly scrolling chat. 【Wait, I think this is a word game!】 【What do you mean?】 【I’ve played horror games like this before. The Boss twists your wish! That guy said he wanted to ‘expose’ the Boss, and the Boss stripped all the flesh from his bones.】 【Holy crap, so how do you beat it?】

Locked. I tried anyway, my shaking fingers pressing random numbers. 2–0–9–7. 1–7–3–8. The red light blinked faster. Then it beeped. Error. “Please,” I whispered. “Please, open” Tears already dripping down my cheeks. I pressed my ear to the cold iron and in there was silent as a graveyard. Just then, I heard a faint, dull sound. Like something falling. I stumbled backward, my pupils dilating.

He was sitting on the bench at the residential clubhouse. John Evans sat on a bench, leg propped, resting, on top of the other. He pulled his hood back and wiped his tan forehead. He was tired of looking around each house with their garages and driveways, spotting Leah's car. John found what looked like a communal area with benches and sat down for a break. He thought he was starting to hallucinate after running too much as Johny spots the vehicle he's been scouting. The red Vitara rolled in front of him; it took him seconds to process, impatiently Leah rolled down the passenger window. Their gazes met.

As such, locating other dead soldier bases had gone from near impossible to very easy. Hugo himself would be reshuffling Horizon's operations as he was the IT expert with significant wisdom in telco. Horizon's databank also helped Ten Thousand Armies greatly as they would keep watch of what their rivals were up to. With the AI module refining satellite images in real time, they would clearly see an enemy's mortar placements. As for Charlie, he was waiting for the next dead soldier base to be located so that they could launch a raid. Before that happened, he would go on a trip around Norway's northern reaches with Vera to see the Aurora.

he asked pointing to the spot on the screen. Nero hummed and slightly bent to peer closely at the screen, his arms still folded across his chest. “What are we looking for?” He leaned closer, and then he saw it. A frame within a frame. The dungeon door. The lock’s tiny status LED blinked from solid to dark and back again. “The lock reboots when the breaker is flipped,” Nico said. “They didn’t pick it. They killed power to that line for fifteen seconds.” The power outage.

It’s real. Slowly, Dominique Gray turns his head toward my direction, like he can sense my presence already with the way I kept glaring at him from where I’m standing, and for a long second, our eyes lock, both of us staring at each other. And for the first time, since I knew this man existed, I could simply read the look on his face and the fiery look in his eyes. He’s started a game, a very dangerous game, and he has no intention of losing.
