Rain broke loose from heavy clouds above, washing heat from the glass walls and cooling the scorched courtyard into relief. Savannah laid Eva against her chest tightly. Colton held them both, wide shoulders absorbing both rain and threat. Silence fell as water cascaded from sprinkler nozzles overhead. Through glass walls the garden recoiled from ruin, but inside they cupped fragile hope like flickering embers—ready to ignite whatever came next. They stood drenched, bruised, determined. In that storm-forged quiet, the flame of survival burned stronger than any external fire.

“Call him back. Tell him—” I shook my head. “This is the only way it ends.” Outside, the wind picked up, rattling the shutters. Somewhere in the distance, a storm was gathering. And for the first time, I wasn’t sure who would survive it.

Snow struck the rocks in shifting horizontal sheets, erasing clear boundaries between sea, air, and land. “You’re letting go of something,” Riven said quietly. Charlotte watched the storm for several seconds before answering. “Yes.” “What?” She smiled faintly, though not happily. “The idea that humanity survives by becoming coherent enough.” Riven absorbed that slowly. “And now?” Charlotte looked toward the distant black water. “I think humanity survives by remaining alive enough to keep changing.” The storm moved around them unpredictably, reshaping itself continuously without stabilizing. Neither spoke again for a while.

"Shh, it's okay. You're safe now." I said, my voice gentle and soothing. "It was a bad storm, but you and the crew handled it like champions." Ava sniffed and wiped away some tears, taking a deep breath as she tried to compose herself. "I've never seen a storm so bad. I thought we were going to die." "I know," I said. "But we made it through. And that's thanks to you and the crew. Without you all, who knows what would've happened?" Ava sniffed again, a small smile starting to form on her lips. "You're right."

We were bracing. And we were doing it together. The storm could rage all it wanted. We’d already survived worse. We’d already chosen each other. And that was the only forecast that mattered.

Imma's pov; What have I done to receive this?, I kept on asking my self, I felt the car stopping, my heart began to beat really fast. What was going to happen to me, I don't really know what they are up to, I said to my self. Temilade's pov; I walk up to the guy to ask him if he knew where Imma was, I wasn't really sure what I was going to say or do.
