Looking down, his sharp eyes caught the pale face of a fallen human militia member staring back up at him from beneath the surface, mouth frozen in a silent scream. His stomach turned. More bodies floated by—witches with their throats ripped out, limbs missing, blood pooling thickly in the water. The swamp wasn’t just alive with magic. It was a grave. Nearby, Adonis was struggling too. A spell had caught him mid-strike, tendrils of glowing green magic wrapping his borrowed body like chains and dragging him under the fetid water.

The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes. The movie ended in two hours , nafisa and fawaz were already sleeping. Khadija sigh before joining them. I turned to run, but she grabbed my arm and pulled me alongside into the swamp. Mud and water rushed up around us, carrying rotting leaves and a fetid stench. I struggled on instinct, yet the harder I fought, the faster I sank. A swamp had no bottom, and it gave no one time to react. My breathing fell apart. Beside me, Stella screamed, stretching her hand toward the forest path. That was when I saw two figures sprinting toward us—Alexander and Christopher. In a daze, I watched Alexander rush to Stella without hesitation. He plunged half his body into the swamp and dragged her out of the sucking mud.

TALIA “No!” I cried. “We have to find your fingers! She spit them out!” “The water is freezing, and they’ve probably been taken downstream by now. Sara’s the only werewolf I know who can swim long distances in freezing water—long enough to find fingers in a huge river. And the water will have carried away the scent anyway.” He looked defeated, tears brimming his eyes. “I will find them,” I said resolutely.
