Echoes of the Pack
We remain in a wordless, breathless standoff, our gazes locked.
His eyes dart to my lips, which bear an unusual amber hue. I can't comprehend why I'm paralyzed, unable to speak or move. As his mouth brushes against mine, I instinctively shut my eyes. He hesitates but promptly abandons his reservation as soon as our lips meet. His mouth is warm and sweet, akin to melted marshmallows or hot chocolate. My heart thunders like a stampede of a thousand horses, and my body feels weightless.
Suddenly, I can move again, so I hurriedly cradle his face and return the kiss. He tastes like honey, and warmth radiates through my veins.
