The scent of vanilla and roasted nuts was intoxicating. We sat down, an array of small, perfect cakes laid out before us. I was tired, but happy. Damien cut a slice of dark chocolate cake and held the tiny fork up to my mouth. "My Adrian said ahhhhhhh," Damien tried to coax me, that playful mood returning now that the stressful planning was temporarily over. I smiled despite myself and opened my mouth, letting the rich, familiar flavor settle on my tongue. "It's incredible." A gentle voice spoke from behind the counter, a voice I hadn't heard in years. "You too look good to each other. I'm happy for both of you."

“Listen, according to my wife, my sister-in-law’s favorite dessert is the vanilla cream cake from that bakery downtown—Southern Wild. If a certain someone were to bring one to dinner tonight, I bet she’d be pretty happy.” If this wasn’t a hint, then nothing was. If Justin still didn’t get it, then he was truly beyond saving. “Got it.” Zac smirked. “Oh, and one more thing—don’t hang up yet. Her foot’s still healing, so she can’t have too much sugar. Chapter 19 After the finishing touches, Jayda stared at her just-concluded creation. The two tiers red velvet cake had red crumbs around and layered with dripping like cheese butter frosting coupled with an animated picture of Moana in the middle. It's a couple of minutes past two and she is more than happy to have finished the job on time.

The food was still warm, and it looked delicious. Cheeses and crackers were paired with every type of fruit and cracker I could imagine. Cuts of steak were still left out on the table next to delicious-smelling barbecue sauce and chimichurri. Mashed potatoes and colorful vegetables sat around the meat as well. But honestly, I couldn’t take my eyes off of the cake. We hadn’t cut into it. That was probably some sort of bad luck and would leave people gossiping even more. The tension made me crave something sweet, though. And those swirls of vanilla buttercream made my mouth water.

If he wanted, he could make a killing as a runway model, though I doubted he’d ever do anything so “basic” He returned less than five minutes later with Sweet Tooth’s signature pink-and-golden cake box tucked beneath one arm. He dumped it in my lap, snapped his umbrella closed, and reversed out of the parking spot without so much as blinking. “Do you ever smile?” I asked, peeking inside the box to make sure they hadn’t messed up the order. Nope. One Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake, coming right up. “It might help with your condition.” “What condition?” Peter sounded bored.

His hand brought the sheet upto my neck while his eyes stared at mine . " There is no need to work today , I have arranged food for you , You can order more with the work phone in my office . Number is written beside it " I nodded . " If anything happened call the last number on the diary next to the phone , understood ?" I nod once . " Take care , we'll be back by evening "I bite my lip as he suddenly kissed my forehead and walked out . EH ? Why is my heart beating so loudly ? I was eating some chips and going at the back of the house since they had a T.V there , I walked across the cabin but stopped and walked inside it .

"I'll do the honor to introduce you to it," "Den Den! Ice cream!" Sadie screeched on his hips before throwing me her innocent curious eyes, looking surprised to have screeched in front of a stranger. "You always promise her sweets on your every visit, but she gotta eat proper food first before ice cream." I pointed out. "You're just like my sister," he shook his head. I softly pinched Sadie's cute cheeks. She shyly smiled and leaned deeply against Arden's neck. So cute.

"It is our first f*ckerversary. We were not together so for the years this date passed, I just let it slide but now look. Cake!" He said with a smile wide, his focus evenly distributed between the man before him and the sweetness of the cake he baked. It is not the best looking cake ever and probably tastes like diabetes more than anything. His not sure if homemade cake should give you the heartburn his currently experiencing. Jayden wouldn't judge him harshly for the thought and effort his lover put on this, cake? Okay yes, he sucks at cooking but he really worked hard on making the white covered icing cake with a 'Happy F*ckerversary' elegantly written. *

It’s a stunning five-tiered cake with white fondant and painted gold around the edges with white edible flowers with gold edges swooping around the cake from top to bottom. It’s a very special cake, it’s actually lemon meringue on the inside, but you won’t know that until you cut through the fondant. It looks amazing, or at least it did until some stupid Delta stuck his finger in it. I storm over, reach up and grab him by the ear pinching and twisting it causing him to drop to his knees and howl in pain.

He only lifted his glass to his lips, a hint of a smile playing at the corner of his mouth. Before I could push further, soft music began drifting from hidden speakers — slow, sultry jazz with a low saxophone that wrapped around the room like smoke. The server returned, pushing a small silver cart. On top sat a glossy passionfruit cheesecake, its golden glaze catching the candlelight. Delicate swirls of cream and fresh berries decorated the top with almost artistic precision. She placed it carefully in front of me and disappeared without a word. I stared at the dessert, confused. “Why is there a cake?”
