Delilah's pov The scent of buttercream and warm vanilla hit me the second we walked through the doors of Cakes and Crumbs. Everything about the bakery screamed quiet luxury—from the marble countertops to the plush velvet settee. It looked less like a shop and more like a minimalist art gallery dedicated to all things pastry. The walls were a soft, creamy white, the floors were polished concrete, and a single, stunning chandelier hung from the ceiling. A long, elegant counter displayed a few perfect cakes, each one a masterpiece of edible architecture.

I stared. “Are you serious?” Alexander was already smirking, pulling off his gloves. “You said you were bored. I figured chocolate, sugar, and a little dramatic flair might help.” “I thought you were taking me to some fancy rooftop bar,” I muttered, stepping toward the building with suspicious curiosity.

“Like your bike?” Aria elbowed him gently. “She was an icon, and I was loyal.” “You name this cone, too, I’m walking away.” “Bold of you to assume I haven’t.” The line was short, but the anticipation? Was heavy and thick. The smell of sugar, vanilla, and that ridiculous fake strawberry syrup wrapped around them like cotton candy air. Behind the glass: rainbow sprinkles, chunks of chocolate, neon pink swirls—pure childhood nostalgia and date-night temptation.

Unable to resist, I walked towards it. The anticipation built up as I opened the box, revealing a treasure trove of caramel cubes, each delicately wrapped in golden paper. The sight made my mouth water, and my craving for caramel took hold. It was a weakness of mine—I simply couldn't resist the allure of caramel. Looking at his bitter personality, it was hard to imagine that he could also have a liking for chocolate. But my thoughts quickly surrendered to the captivating allure of the shining caramel cubes, glistening under the warm glow of the light. They seemed to invite me to indulge in their sweet embrace.

Amelia as always was taking notes in her small notepad sitting in her lab. I begin going through the plan for the future homes that they wanted me to take care of, I present them the way that I was planning to build the homes I could see them agreeing to it. My mind keeps wandering to Amelia as I can smell her sweet caramel perfume almost filling the room. When I looked at the guest I asked them what they thought about it.

The only difference was that they had almost opposite aesthetics. Aubrey was the pretty, cute lady you had no idea could claw your eyes out. She represented yellow, pink and all things girly, and always had a smile on. Hazel, on the other hand, had a dark aesthetic. Wore dark colours, especially red. Always had red lipstick on. Seductive but sweet, to only the people she cared about. She was also girly, but the other kind. And she would absolutely claw your eyes out. But that was the only difference in them. Their aesthetic. They loved the same things.
