My Hatred, My Soulmate

My Hatred, My Soulmate

The question bounces around my skull like a pinball, refusing to settle into any sort of coherent answer. In Literature class, Mrs. Hawthorne drones on about symbolism in Gothic novels while I stare blankly at my open textbook, the words swimming together into meaningless black marks on white pages. My mind is a thousand miles away, lost in the labyrinth of my own doubts and fears. Luna, sitting to my right, notices my obvious distraction. From time to time, she tries to bring me back to the present by throwing sarcastic comments my way—little verbal nudges designed to anchor me in reality.

What Butterflies Don’t Tell You.

What Butterflies Don’t Tell You.

“Open to chapter three.” I obeyed. Mostly because the look she was giving me suggested violence. "Symbolism", she whispered. I frowned. “What’s symbolism again?” Her eyes widened. “You cannot be serious.” “I’m very serious.” She flipped open the book. “The bluebird represents freedom.” “It’s a bird.” “It’s a symbol.” “It’s still a bird.” She closed her eyes. “This is going to be a very long semester.” “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll carry us.”

Whispers Of The Moon's Spell

Whispers Of The Moon's Spell

If Isabella recognized the symbol, it must hold some significance, but what could it mean? "Isabella, do you know what this symbol represents?" Liam asked, his voice tinged with urgency. Isabella hesitated, her gaze distant as she searched her memory. "It's a symbol of power, of magic beyond human comprehension. But its true meaning has been lost to time, hidden in the shadows of Silverwood Falls." Before we could press her for more information, a low growl sounded from the darkness, sending a shiver down my spine. Whatever secrets the symbol held, it seemed we were not alone in our quest to uncover them.

Some people began to understand, and some did not quite get it. Rose frowned as she annunciated it like a mantra, “Poison. Poison? Is there any difference?” "The double quotation marks can express emphasis and citation, or a special title, as well as irony and negation. So the word ‘Poison’ doesn’t represent the poison everyone generally thinks about." Lily explained clearly, "But this mark won’t be seen in our usual speech. What I mean is that I did say the words, but not with the meaning that everyone understands."

How many chapters will this book have I have already spent $40.00 and that could have bought a whole novel. The book is good but it doesn’t need to carry on forever!!! What is the last chapter? I wouldn’t have started reading it had I known it wasn’t complete. This disappoints me greatly!!!

I would like to give my opinion on when his eyes open…… the book is great to read, but I feel like I pay to read that’s okay, but now it’s like the chapters is getting shorter, I don’t want to start on another story when I did not finish the first one. Please let me finish reading this book.

Fated Enemies

Fated Enemies

Arya told her, holding some feathers and placing them in places that seemed random, but for her, it had meaning. "Yes, no problem. I'll search for her." Flora said, looking inquisitive as to what the sorceress was doing, seeing that the woman didn't say anything more she left the room. Arya didn't mention anything more, she was placing elements of air, water, earth, and fire, candles were placed to represent the fire, bowls with water were opposite to the candles, to represent the water as in an opposing element to the fire. Feathers we're representative of the air and opposing to it, we're bits of a handful of earth with a white rose on it, it symbolizes both the element of earth and the wi

The Lone Wolf

“Let’s try it. We’ll look at the symbols individually, see if there’s a pattern.” They all crouched around the door, studying the carvings. One symbol caught Cayla’s attention. It was a jagged line cutting through a circle. It almost seemed like lightning. She pointed to it. “What about this one? It looks like a lightning bolt cutting through something. Could it symbolize power or illumination?” The warrior leaned in, inspecting it closely. “It could also be a storm or something we cannot harness. The circle may represent the world, and the lightning the forces of nature. It could be talking about something powerful, perhaps an elemental force.”

Whispers of Sikar

Lyda explained, "but I think I've figured enough of it out. It mentions three key elements which it calls simply cold, heart, and soul." "What do you think that means?" Thinking for a moment, Lyda stared at the word "cold" on the page. Just below it was a small symbol; two wavy lines, one above the other. It was a simple symbol that Lyda had recognized immediately as the one used to represent water. "I think," she began, "the element of cold means water. Specifically, we have to drink from the water of this spring."

Her Professors

There was a quiet intensity about her, a hunger to learn that intrigued him. "Miss Jones," Alistair suddenly called, snapping Kayla out of her concentration. Her head shot up, her wide eyes meeting his piercing gaze. "Y-yes, sir?" she stammered, her heart racing. "What are your thoughts on the impact of symbolism in storytelling? For example, the use of the green light in The Great Gatsby." Kayla hesitated, her nerves creeping up again. But she forced herself to speak. "Um, I think the green light represents hope and unattainable dreams. It’s a constant reminder of what Gatsby is striving for but also what he can never truly have."

Heart of stone

Heart of stone

This was personal. The psychological weight of it was immediate and crushing. May had faced down armed robbers, corrupt officials, and dangerous syndicates. She was used to physical danger; she could fight back against that. But this... this was psychological warfare. Dead lilies symbolized death, endings, and farewell. It was a threat, yes, but more than that, it was an attempt to destabilize her mind. It was saying, I know where you are. I know what you do. I can reach you whenever I want.

COLLECTION OF LUST AND LOVE

COLLECTION OF LUST AND LOVE

One evening, Kolester was trying to explain the central symbolism of the elk and the hunting of this beast that were vital to his Pulitzer-winning novel at the supper table, and Walker wasn't understanding—or was choosing not to understand—either the relevance or the import of this symbol to anything of value in American society, noting that this nation, like Europe, was rushing towards a world conflagration that had already raised its ugly head in East Asia. Thus, elk as a symbol of anything wasn't, in his opinion, relevant enough to merit a major literary prize—and he certainly couldn't see anything morally redeemable in hunting the majestic animals.
