THE LYCAN’S OMEGA
Rowan danced with Mother, and I looked up to see Father in front of me, hand extended.
“May I have this dance?” he asked.
I smiled, maybe my first genuine smile of the day, and slipped my hand into his.
As we moved across the floor, he said softly, “Happy birthday, baby.”
“Thank you, Daddy but I’m not a baby anymore,” I pouted.
He chuckled.
He didn’t need to ask how I felt he knew. His voice brushed against my thoughts, so all the Lycan’s ears wouldn’t have to listen. ‘You don’t have to feel pressured into doing anything you don’t want to do.’
