Tasting Blood After Coughing Novels & Stories

I took a sip in a hurry, coughing profusely afterward. "Relax." She said, patting my back. I nodded, covering my mouth while still coughing. "Yo! Don't cough out your lungs." She whispered. I couldn't hold it. Something was wrong and I had no idea what. I opened my palm to see a stain of blood. This has never happened before. What went wrong? "Is that blood?" Daven asked, grabbing my palm. I nodded, wiping it off. "Has that happened before?" She asked again, clearly worried and shocked.

I took it from her and took a sip, the cold orange juice cooled me down. We chatted, we laughed hard until my mom started coughing. "Mom, what is wrong?" Zoe and I asked at the same time. "It's..." She couldn't complete her sentence as she coughed again, this time with blood coming out from her nostrils.

The sound might not be as violent as they were that day by the fountain but the large veins peeing at the forehead and across his neck was making it obvious that he was struggling. When the cough finally settled down, he moved his hand away, looked at the inside of his palm and swallowed big. I didn't notice right away but a little spot caught my eyes at the corner of his mouth. My mind quickly took me back to the day by the fountain and I remembered that after he had coughed in to his hand, he had wiped his palm against the side of his pants and there had been a red smudged. I used my palm to cover my mouth whilst coughing and when I moved it away from my mouth, I murmured in shock. “Blood?”

It was the most violent cough I had ever witnessed someone have. He coughed long and hard like he couldn’t even hear or feel me around him, despite my hands on his shoulder, trying to shake him out of his coughing trance. He used his hands to cover his face and was coughing into it. When he finally let up and revealed his palms, my already widened eyes threatened to fall off. My chest ached and I had to press the palm of my hand to it to keep it calm. I covered my mouth with my hands as I continued to cough, and I nearly fell to the ground. Thankfully, Henry had wrapped his arms around me and pulled me toward the couch. Once I was sure I was done coughing, I removed my hands from my mouth and saw that they were covered in blood.

I took the spoon and began eating, it was so sweet just like the aroma. After taking the fifth spoon of food, I got choked on my throat. I grabbed the cup of water and emptied it expecting relief, but it worsened. My stomach became too hot like a burning fire. The cup was already empty so I grabbed the bottle of herb on the other table and drank from it. It was too intense beyond my control when I began coughing out blood, I lost my balance, stretching my legs while falling to the floor. I couldn't get hold of myself as I laid on the floor, struggling for breath while still coughing out blood.

It starts small, just a little tickle in my throat, but then I find the cough growing into a full bark, a hack. Victor puts a hand on my back, looking at me with concern, and I can barely catch my breath, clutching my napkin to my mouth as my chest finally settles down. When I finally suck in a breath and glance down at my napkin, I see that it’s speckled red with blood.
