A small whimper escaped her, but she wasted no time in raising her crossbow and firing an arrow at his killer. With a gust of air they'd moved and the arrow struck the wall, breaking in two. She knew that if she stayed much longer that more vampires would trace her scent and outnumber her, so with one last look at the body on the ground, she fled quickly down the tunnel.
