They rippled slightly as the tattoo gun continued it's work. Deft gloved hands drew and colored the skin. A quick swipe removed excess ink. Heavily tattooed arms moved with each stroke, the artwork colorful and bright with splotches of pinks, blues, purples, and greens. She marveled at those arms, strong, tight, and remarkably hairless. The artist wore a black sleeveless shirt, cut to resemble a tank top with wide cut underarms. A faded yellow batman logo was printed on the front. The artist wore tight blue jeans, revealing wide hips and a round ass. Grey boxes poked out of the back as she hunched over her work.

I laugh, tugging my hair out from the neck of the sweatshirt and running a hand through it. He shakes his head, his eyes sparkling gold. “Nah, it’s sexy as fuck.” Heat crawls up my neck, my cheeks flushing. “Whatever.” I nod toward Benji. “Show him where you want the tat, Romeo.” Chase leans back, turning over his right arm and slapping the spot beneath his elbow on the inside of his forearm. “Right here.” Benji glances over his shoulder to see where he’s indicating, then nods, beckoning me back over to check out his sketch. I return to him eagerly, peering over his shoulder at the drawing in front of him, my lips sliding into a grin.

“When did you get that tattoo?” From the few undone buttons, I could see dark blue ink marks spread across his chest. It looked like the tail of an animal, but it was faint, and the rest of the drawing was covered by his shirt. I was so sure it was a tattoo, and that was an unusual development. He smirked and slowly pulled out his shirt so I could see the tattoo. Slowly, my eyes ran up his chest, and the drawing began to make sense. The tail I had seen was that of a snake, but its head was in the mouth of an eagle.

Marcus continued slowly. “He said when she handed him candy, her wrist was exposed for a moment. On it was a very unusual tattoo.” Marcus took out another photo. It was a child’s drawing. A twisted pumpkin face, its mouth split all the way to the ears, its eyes hollow spirals. “This kind of gothic-style tattoo… a lot of people have them…” My voice grew quieter and quieter. Marcus said nothing. He simply placed a third photo in the center of the table. The background was a beach and the open sea.
