‎I lean back slowly in my seat, staring blankly ahead as the rain intensifies, drumming loudly against the car roof. ‎“Oh no…” my voice cracks, barely above a whisper. ‎Tears sting my eyes as reality crashes down on me. ‎“It’s over.”

The rainwater is cold and soothing. I close my eyes, letting the rain mix with my blood, my sweat, and my tears. Then my world goes black.

The money I had left was less than ten thousand naira after sending most of it to my mom. After cleaning my room and taking a bath, I felt empty. This wasn’t my body anymore, it felt foreign, like something had been stolen and could never be returned. As I stepped out of my room again, tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. I turned back and threw myself onto the bed, my knees hitting the floor. My body shook with agony. But no amount of tears could bring back who I was before. It was gone, and gone forever.

Without hesitation, Liam crouched and wrapped his arms around Theodore, who was still crying. "Hey, it's okay. I'm right here. Everything's going to be fine. Stop crying, little man." Reassured, Theodore pressed his lips together. His eyes were puffy from crying, tears blurring his sight. He whispered through his sobs, "T-Thank you." Then, he brushed the tears from his face. Liam grinned, his hand brushing the back of Theodore's head. "That's it. Now that's a little man."

The gentle patter of rain against the windowpane provides a soothing backdrop, a natural symphony that matches the rhythm of my troubled thoughts. In this moment of solitude, I let the tears flow freely, mingling with the rain that caresses my face. I was so mad. I don't know where that madness was coming from. But I feel so heavy that I feel like I might shrink under the ground. I wanted to shed a tear, but nothing is coming out. I wanted to burst into tears, but there was something inside me saying NO! A single tear is not worth it to give to this woman. Raven got near me, and she held my hands while the old woman was shaking in tears.

Like delicate raindrops clinging to the precipice, her tears teeter on the edge, threatening to spill over and carve a path down her cheeks. Charlotte’s POV I quickly made my way to the bathroom before anyone could see my tears. No matter how much I tried to hold them back, they just kept falling and falling, one after the other, like rain droplets pouring down a car windshield. By the time I made it to the bathroom, my eye makeup was ruined and there were thick tracks down my cheeks where the tears had fallen.

I have to accept the fate and destiny reserved for me. I just have to let it flow as it should. All of a sudden, my tears fell from my eyes like raindrops from the sky, ruining my makeup.

I cursed repeatedly, aloud and firm. And to sum up the misfortune, the rain suddenly poured and it was as heavy as my heart. I looked up into the dark clouds, letting my salted tears mix with the cold droplets coming from above. Slowly, i closed both of my eyes to feel it all, the sympathy from heaven. It must have pitied me so much that it suddenly wants to join and help me make a river through my endless tears. "Wow. Thanks for being with me..." I mumbled, still with my eyes closed but with a bitter smile painted on my damp trembling lips.
