I approach the car, my heart pounding in my chest. I open the car door and peer inside. There's only one person in the car, the driver. I glance around, my heart racing. Where are Aurora, Natasha, and Raphael? Just then, I hear a soft whistle from behind me. I turn, and I see Aurora standing there, a knife pressed to Natasha's throat. Rafael is standing next to her, his suit jacket unbuttoned, revealing a muscular chest. He's flexing his fingers, ready to fight. I growl, my eyes flashing. This isn't good.

Raphael looked down from the window, his crimson eyes glowing like rubies in the sunlight. He let out a growl that resonated throughout the entire room, echoing in the walls. Raphael's body tensed, his muscles coiling as he prepared to leap out the window after the Silent Reaper. His eyes, glowing brighter, were fixated on the rapidly disappearing figure. His hands began to shift, claws emerging as his rage threatened to overtake him. "Raphael, no!" Logan's voice cut through the chaos. He moved swiftly, grabbing Raphael's arm and yanking him back from the edge. "You can't go after him like this."

Similar elegant prints adorn the walls, and beautiful wooden furniture dominates the floor space. Raphael is leaning back in his chair and smiling at me. My breath catches. I’ve never seen Lirael’s younger brother up close before. Unlike Lirael, who’s usually always in a three-piece suit at work, Raphael has his jacket off and his shirtsleeves rolled up to reveal his muscular forearms. Like his brother, he’s gorgeous, even though he looks quite different from both Lirael and Nathan. Where they’re all dark hair and icy eyes, Raphael is golden-blond and tawny. Just as beautiful and just as deadly to women’s hearts, I imagine. I’m sure he uses his good looks and charm to make women fall for him

“What the fuck did you do?” Daniel’s eyes flitted to the hallway just moments ago, two of Rapha’s men stood there like sentinels, while the others, still bloodied and staggering from the earlier ambush, reeled behind him. “She wasn’t yours to protect.” Rapha eyes didn't leave the tablet in his hand, as the screen spilled cold, clean light on his face. His thumb scrolled with infuriating calm like Daniel was just a petulant child throwing a tantrum he’d grown used to tolerating.

Axel snarls, throwing his hands up in a wide, dramatic gesture of annoyance that makes me giggle. Raphael’s lips graze my ears. “Keep giggling; it's adorable.” My cheeks burn. But Axel wasn't done yet. "That’s how we’re playing this now, Raph? Stealing the toy before the wrapper’s even off? Real subtle." Raphael doesn't even look at Axel. He turns his head slightly, his mouth brushing my temple as he speaks, “You're free to challenge me; you get the privilege of being on top. You're welcome."

He kneels in front of me, hands gentle but trembling with restrained fury. “He shouldn’t be able to do that,” Raph growls. “Not across this distance. Not unless he’s deliberately trying to hurt you.” “He is,” I whisper. “He thinks I betrayed him.” Raph stares at me for a long moment, something fierce and unbearably pained flickering through his eyes. “You didn’t.” I choke out a soft, broken laugh. “Tell that to him.” “I just did,” Raph snaps, then catches himself, exhaling slowly. “Pearl. Look at me.”

I didn't realize until the fifth one shutting my mouth that I was screaming Rafa. It may be my imagination or my scream which conjured him, but when the fifth one shut my mouth and shorty tried to put his filthy hands on me that a punch landed on him from behind me. At the same time, I heard the unforgettable sound of Harley. It took a few seconds for the ones holding me to apprehend what's happening. Before they could understand, Raphael pounced on them. From the other end, Kade dropped his bike to the side and joined the fight. I never saw Kade treating his bike so carelessly. But that thought didn't hold me for long. I have a certain fight to finish.
