Tessa’s smile didn’t falter. “Oh, I heard the doctor said you needed plenty of rest and to reconnect with nature. So I’ve been holding onto your phone,” she explained, reaching into her bag. She pulled out a sleek phone and placed it into my hand.
Relief flooded me. “Thank you,” I breathed, clutching it like a lifeline.
“But remember,” she added, her smile bright but her tone firm, “no posts, no replies to anyone. That’s my job, I’ll handle everything. You only respond to me, okay?”
