Rhea felt the last shred of the girl who had loved the morning rain wither and die. She felt the mate bond, the pack, and the forest fade into a distant, grey memory. She slowly lowered herself to one knee, the stone cold against her skin.
"I bow," Rhea said, her voice devoid of emotion.
"Good," Morga said, reaching out to touch Rhea’s chin, tilting her head up. "Rise, Queen of Ruin. Our work begins tonight."
