He smiled, pleased over something that he saw. I wondered what it was then. What is advantageous of being a demon is that we get to read another person's mind. We can use it for or against them. But before an angel, we are helpless. It is either they have barriers in their too-holy brains or they are just dead on imagination. I prefer to think it is the latter.

Just as Tsarayu picked up the book, he could see that it was a little different from the previous book. It’s been a long time, Veronica… Demonica.” The spirit said as she smile and look at Veronica and Demonica who is still struggling in pain. “Mother? Ho- how...” Veronica said unable to utter a word.

Taking a few strides towards it, my hands shook as I held them out, fear washed over me, the more time I spent here, the more creepy it became, my fingers itching to touch the leather-bound cover. But as I moved closer, the temperature in the room dropped. The warmth I had felt vanished, replaced by a bone-chilling cold. A gust of wind whipped around me, carrying with it a voice, a low, menacing whisper. "You do not belong here, child of both realms." I froze. My breath caught in my throat. From the shadows, a spirit emerged, its hollow eyes glowing with a strange light. It hovered above the altar, blocking my path. "You seek power that is not yours," it snarled, its voice filled with anger

Clara had never spent much time wondering where Clarissa’s soul had gone. Over time she had come to think of Clarissa’s body as her own rather than a body she had borrowed. To hear that a demon could have consumed her soul was a shock to her. “Is it possible for a demon to have eaten her soul?” she asked. Caiden looked serious when he replied. “She is not listed as being contracted to any demons. I didn’t see any demons in her memories when I looked through them before giving them to you. Demons cannot take a human’s soul without a contract being involved.”
