Half Demon King

Half Demon King

The room was empty and looked like a tornado had run through it. "What are they looking for," I questioned curiously, lifting an empty dresser drawer out of our way. Both men shrugged and continued to the open door. Samson peeked around down the hall and waved us forward. We all hurried down the hall and kneel down at the top of the stairs to see Mortas tied to a chair below surrounded by men in all matte black armor. One of the pricks was about to saw off Mortas's single horn. "That's a great insult for us demons," Dane whispered sadly. I gritted my teeth and stood.

Mr. and Mrs. Walker

Mr. and Mrs. Walker

She had her butterfly mask on as she stood silently beside the Demon King. The two were clad in black attire and masks. If Carl didn't know them, he would've thought they were Bonnie and Clyde. "Demon King, who's this?" Carl glanced at Annabel with her butterfly mask before he looked at the Demon King. The Demon King had a small smile, looking like the Grim Reaper. "You don't need to know who she is, Mr. Walker. She just likes butterflies." The Demon King was indeed the Grim Reaper now because he held a switch that would determine Violet's fate.

Reaper's Hollow

she said, her eyes as wide as his were. “Good idea,” Cutter replied. He looked down the street and saw Rider and Ivy, their backs to each other, their hands up. They looked just as surprised as he was, but prepared. A demon in the shape of a large snake began to wind its way out of a building down the street headed for the church. Cutter didn’t wait for any orders. He sent a beam of light out of his palm in its direction. The beast, which had to be close to thirty feet long with dark scales, and now he could see, three faces, reared up all of its ugly heads and tried to fight against his blast, but it couldn’t escape, and Cutter spoke the incantation that would destroy it.

The Demon of SilverFang

The Demon of SilverFang

But my mom just smiled. “That’s my girl.” I smiled proudly. “But what is that?” She picked me up and walked over to her bookcase, she pulled out a really old book and opened it. On the page was a man with horns on his head and a long tail. “So, a demon is usually a very strong being. One who will use tricks and magic to punish anyone who makes them angry. Many people are afraid of them, because they are really strong and don’t show mercy to their enemies.”

SPECIAL (Demon's Reincarnation)

SPECIAL (Demon's Reincarnation)

He hasn't punished anybody yet, who must be doing this? 'Claws and bulgy eyes, furs and… it was a pet! Yes, it was her. How her fingers look and it's bulgy eyes and soft fur, who could have done this? Was he led here on purpose or was the demon hunting him.' *Growls* He turned his head up slowly and met two bulgy eyes staring at him at the far end of the study. He jumped out of his seat and stared at them. "Eyes..," he called and they blinked at him. "You were just here, how did you get there? Why are you tormenting me?" His voice broke, his back hit the door and then he knew there was no escape.

Luveldom Academy

She wanted to completely destroy the reflective object but she was disturbed by a sudden knock on her bedroom door. "Come in," she turned around hoping her figure would hide the destroyed mirror from whoever was behind the door. "Miss Yumena, your Father wishes to see you downstairs," The Markov Demanor, Tulip communicated in English with her sweet, high-pitched voice. Demanors were human domestic workers that worked in Supernatural homes. They were usually impoverished individuals who held vulnerable positions in human society.

Magic Academy: Finding My Mate

Magic Academy: Finding My Mate

I've felt his presence for a while—he murdered Hayley. "Oh, you don't know?" Beelzebub laughs and exchanges a smirk with the four other demons he brought with him—Asmodeus, Leviathan, Lamia, and Mammon. Lamia, the snake woman, gives me a creepy smile. "Hello, Lucifer." I frown. Lamia has always liked me—the feeling isn't mutual. Lamia has the torso of a woman but the body of a snake. I find her repulsive. "Hi..." I growl back.

Jessica spat. June was trembling because she could feel the evil energy flowing from the entity possessing the Luna. "Step back, all of you," June warned. Lucy grabbed a hold of her sisters' hands and pulled them back. "Jessica, come to us," Lucy pleaded. The queen clenched her palms into fists before putting some distance between herself and Ariel. "June, what is it? Why do you look so pale?" Lucy asked. June gulped, reading into the energy. "This demon is not an ordinary demon. She's a Baktu."

I am absolutely in love with this book. It is one of the best that I have read in a long time. I just wish I knew how many chapters in total it is going to be total. I tend to start reading others while waiting and I like to let them build before I read them. It just helps knowing how many in total.
That B¡tch
This is hands down one of the best books I’ve read on here. The last chapter I read was 57 & that’s 2 wks ago. Came on here last night because I’m home after getting minor surgery & bought the remaining chapters & I sat down & read it all. All I can say is wow! My imagination is waking up. Thank you

Frequently Asked Questions

You know, I've always found the demon butler trope way more unsettling than outright monstrous villains. They're never just servants, right? The whole point is the chilling dissonance. They'll be arranging flowers with inhuman precision or delivering a perfectly timed cup of tea, all while their true nature is this vast, ancient malice simmering just beneath the immaculate gloves. It's not about hiding a physical form, usually—it's about concealing intent.

Take Sebastian from 'Black Butler'. His contract with Ciel is the core secret, but the deeper one is his complete emotional detachment framed as loyalty. He's not serving out of devotion; he's cultivating a soul. The 'perfect servant' act is a predator's patience. For others, like in some fantasy romances I've skimmed, the secret is often a hidden vulnerability—a binding oath from a past betrayal, or a disguised affection for their charge that contradicts their demonic nature. The facade isn't just to fool humans; sometimes it's to fool themselves, or their own kind.

The scariest version, to me, is when the 'perfect service' is itself the weapon. Every polished surface, every solved problem, makes the master more dependent and isolated. The demon isn't waiting to strike; they're meticulously engineering a gilded cage where the master willingly surrenders everything. The secret isn't a sudden reveal; it's the slow, horrific realization that the facade was the trap all along.
