Evie almost passed out when she noticed they were holding those weapons. “Her name is Red,” Violeta told the guards. Her voice was a little higher though. Like she wanted someone else to hear her.

It was an ancient rule. Other colors existed among common dragons, but never royalty. A blue dragon, born to the prince's concubine, screamed one thing. She had betrayed him. The crowd's stares burned, and Horace's rage boiled over. He lifted the child and smashed it to the ground, killing it instantly. The gruesome scene made me shudder.

I admit. I do not really spend much of my time watching the Court's fashions. I have spent the last few years just trying to survive.The last couple of months has really been even more intense when it comes to my focus on other subjects. It "Merged" with the present. Silas stood in the ruins of the keep, but the eighteen-year-old Lyra—the scentless, broken version of his mate—was still standing on the floor beside the Sovereign Lyra. One was unmistakably the legendary engagement ring of Queen Zenobia a perfect oval red diamond formed from the blood of the first dragon, embraced by twin dragons wrought in platinum, their tails intertwining to form the band. The other, simpler yet equally striking, was Prince Richard’s, a signet of the same red diamond encircled by the intertwined royal crests of Alynthia and Asterin.
