Charlotte said, filling her goblet with more wine. Just then, Melanie's phone chimed, alerting her of an incoming call “It's a call from Frank. My baby is waiting for me..Guys I gotta go!” She said, giving them a quick wave before dashing out of the room. Charlotte gulped her drink And said to Amanda, “Don't tell me you disagree with what Melanie did to Hilary. Look, Hilary ought to be put in her place. Don't let her keep treating you like a piece of shit!"

Thirty years since high school and she was pleased that she had managed to keep the sands of time from etching lines into her face without any help from Hollywood's plastic magicians. It was well past lunchtime and Melanie was still in her underwear. Since Friday was a short taping day, she didn't need to be in the studio until mid-afternoon. Melanie Tyler might have the most recognizable voice on television, but no one knew what she looked like, and that's the way she liked it.

Chapter One. MELANIE'S POINT OF VIEW "Holy shit! I'm done for!", I screamed as I jumped out of bed. You must be wondering why I'm freaking out when it's only minutes past five in the morning but trust me when I tell you that I have legitimate reason to freak out. I'm Melanie Wright, twenty-seven years old and... That's about all that's important about me, I don't have much of a life. "Really? Are you sure? This new guy's way better than any man you've known. I promise, once you try him, you'll never forget it." I felt like I was about to vomit and took a few steps back. "Well, have fun then." Melanie blinked innocently. "Alright, I'll just enjoy him myself." As soon as the reunion banquet ended, she swaggered off without a care. The live comments freaked out. "It's over! Melanie plans to spend the whole night with that new gigolo. She'll definitely get pregnant, and then she'll just wait for Yvonne to start showing so she can frame her!"

Melanie stood near her so that her legs under the thick dress wouldn’t feel so warm. She was just enjoying the respite when someone came by to provoke her. “Miss Melanie! You look like you’ve gained weight!” Melanie turned around to see Sylvia Anderson, one of Harlow’s previous female partners. “I suppose I might have gained weight from staying with Ms. York at the base and enjoying a good life there, where I don’t even need to see annoying people?” Melanie responded with ease. Melanie’s implicit dig at Sylvia made her eyes burn with anger. She was Harlow’s official partner!
