Chapter Two: SIGHTING Later that night, Rojean dolled up to go to a place that was both a nightclub and a bar that everyone was talking about. She was old enough, for sure, especially if she was going to get married soon. But she was never the kind of person to go out on the weekends, to a club or even a bar and always preferred the comfort of their apartment which Lucas didn’t mind at all even when he wanted to go out. She was in a cream coloured off shoulder dress which stopped mid-thigh and hugged her curves beautifully.

"No one touches you. No one takes what's mine." "Yes—yours," she panting, her voice breaking as her internal muscles clamped down on me in a sudden, violent climax. She shuddered, her head burying into my neck as her body convulsed around mine. I let out a low, animalistic roar, my hips driving up one last time as I blew a thick, heavy load deep inside her, filling her completely while the car drifted slightly on the slick highway. We panted in the dark, our sweat mingling. I didn't let her move. I kept her pinned to my chest as the heavy iron gates of the Rinaldi estate loomed out of the gray morning fog ahead.

Enough to fill the space with color and scent, the deep red catching against the dim light of the bar. They moved straight to the counter. “Delivery for Rose Rainer,” the first one said. “Can you sign?” Rose stared at them for half a second. “Yeah. That’s me.” She signed. “Where do you want them?” She glanced at the growing mass of roses, then gave a small shake of her head. “Anywhere they fit.” A card was placed in her hand. She opened it. Wild Rose. See you tonight. K. Vivian let out a sound somewhere between a squeal and a gasp.

Since then, Theo and I have had numerous arguments. There was a time I wandered into the garden and was captivated by the roses, heavy with blooms. Red roses are my weakness, and they were so vibrant and full that I couldn't resist picking a few. It was too late when the gardener stopped me, warning that I'd be in trouble because those roses were off-limits. He told me they had belonged to Theo’s late mother, planted in her memory, and he had forbidden anyone from picking them.

Kevin demanded and slowly guided her to the front table, holding her shoulders. "Close your eyes, kitten, I've something very special for you," he whispered softly in her ear. Rose was hesitant at first but complied as he demanded. Her heart raced with his warm breath against her neck. He placed a small, rectangular velvet box in her hand, guiding her fingers to grip it securely. "Open your eyes," He urged, making Rose open her eyes slowly, anticipating a necklace or any piece of jewellery as usual, but as she flicked the cover, what she saw was totally incomprehensible to her.

Together we'll crush Rose, and her secrets will be her demise, I nod, smiling, confident, our plan will surely rise. ############

The night breeze lifted his hair, softening his sharp features. He knelt in front of my tombstone, fingertips brushing its cold surface, eyes full of longing. "Wendy. Rose." He said my name so gently. I hadn't heard him speak like that in a long, long time. He leaned down and kissed the photo etched on my stone. "You've waited long enough, haven't you?" he murmured. "I'm coming to join you." A gentle smile curved his lips. Then, without hesitation, he drove the blade into his chest.

Christopher explained. "Tenth floor!!!" Rose asked incredulously. "Yes, the tenth floor. Is there a problem?" Christopher asked. "Yes, there is a problem. How many floors are there?" Rose asked. "Ten floors up. Your office is on the tenth floor." Christopher answered. He still did not understand why she was surprised.
