Chapter Twenty One

Rose walked into her room and slumped on the bed. She laid down and looked at the ceiling with different thoughts running through her mind. The thought of confronting the whole citizens of the media when their relationship gets out to the public was something she wasn't looking forward to. Yes, she can do whatever she wants to do as long as the determination is there but, most of these internet citizens just love to criticize. They would only see what they want to see and from the comments that have been made based on the announcement of Christopher's engagement to Cindy, she was going to have a hard time. The public thinks they are a perfect match and they look good together. She continued to think about this till an incoming call on her phone pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Hello?" She said immediately she picked up the call because she didn't check the caller ID.

"Good morning sis! Have you guys gotten to Lagos?" She heard. That was when she noticed that it was Ada on the other side of the phone.

"How are you, Ada? We have arrived and sorry I didn't call you." Rose said.

"No problems. The most important thing is that you guys are in Lagos, safe and sound." Ada answered her.

"Ok. How are you? How are you adapting to the house?" Rose asked.

"Am fine. It's just that the house is ao big and am all alone. Aside from that, everything is great." Ada said from the other side of the phone.

"You'll get used to it soon. The size of this house am in now is almost ten times bigger than that one." Rose said.

"Is it really that big?" Ada asked with excitement loudly in her voice. "I saw a picture online with your husband driving out of his house and it was, wow!!!" Ada said.

"If you were wowed by just the picture then, what will you do when you see it?" Rose asked.

"When I see it, you will know what I will do," Ada answered.

"Good night Ada. Sleep well." Rose said and hung up the call then said, "yeye girl. I don't blame you sha... Even I am still not over my shock at the beauty of this house." She said to herself. She settled onto the bed and fell asleep instantly.

NEXT MORNING...

The sun pouring through the window woke Rose up from her peaceful sleep. She opened her and checked time. "What? Why did I wake up so late?" She asked herself when she saw the time. It was almost 10 am and she hardly wakes up late. She freshened up and was about to walk out of the room but met Christopher outside the door. "Good morning." She greeted him after she got over her initial shock of seeing him.

"Good morning. I was coming to check on you!" He answered.

"Yeah, maybe I was very tired or, the bed was too comfortable." She said and smiled.

"Hope you enjoyed your sleep tho?"

"Yeah. I feel refreshed. I guess I slept really well. Where is Princess?" Rose asked.

"She is around the house. She woke up very early and she has been running around the house." Christopher said as they walked down the stairs.

"Oh, someone is very energetic. I didn't expect her to wake up before me and the worse part, she forgot about me." Rose complained.

"Oh don't be so dramatic. She came into your room but decided not to wake you up." Christopher said and smiled. "She Is a great child. Very wise also. Do you want to know the reason why she didn't want to take you up?"

"I imagine it's one of her childish logic?" Rose said and sat down.

"No. Actually, she made a lot of sense. She said and I quote, 'mommy is always tired but she would never show it. She is always waking up very early to make me food and prepare me for school. Now that she is sleeping so deeply, I don't want to disturb her.' That's what she said then, she forced me to help her make breakfast for you." Christopher said with a smile.

Rose didn't know what to say after hearing what Christopher said. She was touched by the fact that her three-year-old daughter could be as reasonable as that. She was quiet for a while just relishing the fact that Princess was that observant.

"Don't you want to know what we prepared for you?" Christopher asked.

"Sure, what did you guys make?"

"Well, we prepared Yam and egg. That was one of the easiest meals apart from noodles that we could think of. We didn't want the cook to help so, that's what we could come up with." Christopher said.

"Ok... What are you waiting for? Let me see how good you and your daughter are in the kitchen." Rose said and got up.

They walked into the dining room and Christopher made Rose sit while he went to bring the food from the kitchen.

"Hmmm, this smells good. I hope it tastes as good as it looks!" Rose said. She prayed and, cut a piece of the yam, added egg, and put it in her mouth. "Hmm... This is not bad, it tastes ok." Rose said.

"Really? Just ok? We spent hours making that and the only thing you could say is, it tastes ok?" Christopher said while Rose smiled and continued eating. "Anyways, would you like to take a tour of the house after eating or, meet the workers first?"

"I'll like to meet with the helpers first. My child will be around them all day so, I would like to know them first." Rose answered.

Christopher stopped talking to her and watched her eat. Rose finished eating and took the plates to the Kitchen. Christopher wanted to do it himself but, she declined and took them to the kitchen herself.

"Am ready," Rose said to Christopher as she came back out of the kitchen and met him waiting for her at the sitting room. "Can you please introduce me to the workers now? I'd like to meet them now."

"Ok. I'll be right back. They should be at the back of the house with Princess." Christopher said and went out of the house to call in the servants and Princess.
