Bonus Scene 1 — Bar Fantasy Revisited Alternate timeline – several years after the wedding The bar is the same one. Low lights, warm amber glow, same dark wood, same sticky-sweet smell of spilled whiskey and expensive cologne. Only this time they’re not strangers. Jamie sits at the far end of the counter in a black button-down, sleeves rolled, top two buttons open, ring glinting whenever he lifts his glass. He’s pretending to scroll on his phone, but his eyes keep flicking toward the door.

I knew I should have kept my mouth shut but it was just too much for me to hold in. Before I knew it he was beside me. He grabbed me from the collar of my clothe and held he up. "You keep defying me, why?" He asked. "Look at me when I speak to you." He shouted. I raised my head and looked at him. We are supposed to be mates! I held back my words. Ever since the full moon two years ago, my life has become miserable. Not that it was any better before but I would trade my present life to get the former back.

“You can call him and tell him that I’m interested.” A wide smile plastered across Jamal’s face. “Good.” I rolled my eyes at him. “Are you happy now?” He nodded, pulling me into a warm embrace. “Yes.” I bit my inner lips to stop myself from smiling as I gently pushed him away. “You’re sweaty. Go and take a shower before you hug me.” “Fair enough.” He laughed as he let go of me. “Are you leaving today?” Jamal nodded. “Yes, I have to go back home to prepare for my California event.”

I missed her. I missed the life I once had before everything fell apart. Suddenly, sharp laughter echoed behind me. The sound was cruel, Mocking, Familiar. My body froze instantly. Slowly, I turned around. Jamiah....My stepsister. She stood there dressed in expensive clothes, surrounded by two friends who looked equally arrogant. The moment our eyes met, a cruel smile spread across her face. “Well, well,” she sneered loudly. “Look who we have here.” I immediately felt uncomfortable.

Its promise. "I'll be back here in a moment." The only ones left in their house are Amara, Manang Doris and Jam. The couple left for a business trip to London. When Manang Doris came out, Jam suddenly slipped in to enter Amara. "What are you doing here?" Amara asked Jam weakly. "Come on, I'll let you go." He helps Amara stand up. "What are you saying?" Questioning it. "Ma'am Jam? Where are you taking Amara?" Mama Doris asked worriedly. "Get the car ready!" He ordered it and continued to support Amara and passed it to the Driver. "Wait for me!" Jam said and ran into the parents' room.

I find myself actually having somewhat of a good time at their dumb concert. "Fall in love with hobos like us," Jam sings, wiggling up and down like a worm, "cause you can't run and you can't hide," Gland raps, looking very intimidating while doing so -- you really can't run and hide from him, he'll find you. Oog finally concludes the song, "You and us gonna munch the sky! Dung Number 5!" The three 'stars' throw their mics into the air and sprint to the edge of the stage before diving headfirst off of it like insane people. AJ shrieks and runs to catch their stage-dive but I pull her back before she can get squashed by them.

Why don't we go to the sitting room and watch a new series? It's quite lonely there.” Eventually, we left the room laughing and chatting away like old-time friends, Emma and Jamal were the best things that had happened to me in a long time. Emma and I snuggled against each other while Jamal made popcorn in the kitchen. He came back with a big bowl of popcorn and a blanket, and we started the series called “The Witcher”.

“What? You were gone for five years! Don’t tell me you were locked in an art cave the whole time.” “I wasn’t,” he said. “But I wasn’t really… looking.” Jamie squinted into the rearview mirror. “Hmm. Interesting.” Jasmine tugged lightly at her dress, heat crawling up her neck. Why was she reacting to this? She didn’t want to react to this. “So,” Jamie said suddenly, eyes glinting with mischief, “Jasmine got married yesterday.” “Jamie!” Jasmine hissed. “What?” Jamie shrugged. “Just catching my best friend up on the news.”

Jamal clutched his chest and wailed, "Oh the love! Ah the tragedy! Yo the sex! 'Tis lit!" "Shut up," Logan and I both mumbled. Logan's cheeks flamed and I felt my own getting hotter. All inquisitive eyes of Marilyn, Shaun and Gemma was on us, criticising as if we actually did something. "Stop paying heed to Jamie, he talks nonsense, you guys know that," I tried to brush off the topic as Jamal continued to moan and God knew what. It sounded like asthmatic hyenas playing football. "I swear Jamie shut up, there are kids coming here- oh kids!"

-------------------------------------------------------------- At the subway station, a dainty girl in a striped grey jumper squeezed past the commuters and hurriedly boarded the train. As expected, the carriage was bustling with a vast number of commuters travelling to the city and she struggled in locating an empty seat. The puerile and innocuous Janny was not used to the speedy and hectic life in City N. It was extremely distinct from the slow and peaceful life in City S! Janny ended up receiving a few pushes by the rushing passengers, before falling directly on a seat and bruising her bottom!
